Yesterday I had a makeup trial with the lovely Kimberly. She is getting married at Kinkell Byre near St Andrews in March. I'm looking forward to this wedding as it is one I will be attending as a guest too, and Kinkell Byre is a venue that was one of our top choices when we were looking for our wedding a couple of years ago so I'm excited to go there and see it. I'm working alongside my sister Charlene from Princes Cut Bridal Hair which will be fun! www.princesscutbridalhair.co.uk
I'll also get to see Rob from Lifetime Photography again as he is photographing Kimberly's wedding. Rob was our wedding photographer and is AMAZING! Go check out his work at www.lifetimephotography.co.uk For Kimberly's makeup I used the following products (all MAC unless otherwise stated): Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Pink Studio Fix Fluid Shu Uemura Translucent Powder Peaches Blush Mineralize Skinfinish Lightscapade Painterly Paintpot Eyeshadows - Wedge, Embark, Dazzlelight (Eye), Coquette (Brows) Naked Pigment BlackBlack Chromaline Estee Lauder Double Wear Eyeliner Onyx MaXFactor False Lash Effect Mascara Creme Cup Lipstick A few months ago I did a photo shoot with the amazing model Shana Gilham, and photographer Richard Newton. We played with powder paint and liquid paint - it was so much fun! I went through a pack of baby wipes trying to clean Shana up after each shoot! We wanted the makeup really simple so that the focus was on the paint colours, so the powdered paint makeup was just flawless skin and a smudged black liner, the liquid paint makeup was a slightly more detailed silver and black smokey eye. Shana has recently been signed by a modelling agency in London and her modelling career is going great. I've done a couple photo shoots with her and she is a total pro, I hope to work with her again in the future.
Apologies for only posting pictures of old photo shoots this week, however I've been unwell with the flu. I'm currently overdosing on ginger and lemon tea so hopefully I'll be fighting fit again soon! x The above images are from a photo shoot I did a few months ago. They were taken at the airport and show a lone business woman waiting on her flight, so the focus was on simple elegance and a classic look. Unfortunately the lighting doesn't show the makeup well but I like the two shots above. I did simple but elegant makeup with a very soft eye and a classic small flicked eyeliner. Unfortunately I can't remember all the products I used, but I did use Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation. This was the first time I had used this foundation, and I loved it. It was very easy to work with and left a flawless result on the skin.
The photo shoot was a week before I did my make up test for MAC, and I used the same model Alison for my make up test - she has a perfect face for make up! It seems like a lifetime ago I was going through the application process, and I've been working so much since that time is just flying by at the moment. It's amazing how much I have learnt in the last few months in my job. Hopefully I'll manage to fit in time for some more photo shoots this year so I can show you some new work :) (Photographer: House Photography Ltd) I recently received a Birchbox Subscription for a birthday present, and along with the monthly box I was sent this special Christmas box. I was delighted to receive this extra gift as it included full size products which included a Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser and a Molton Brown body wash. I also received two Teapigs tea bags, a Twistband hair tie, Givenchy Noir Couture mascara and a full size Macademia Deep Repair Mask.
That value of this Christmas box must be at least £60! So far I have used the Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod body wash and the Liz Earle cleanser. These have fast become two of my favourite products and I will definitely be buying them again. The body wash is amazing and my skin smells great all day after using it. Pink Pepperpod is a lovely spicy scent also with aromas of ginger and patchouli oil. It can be bought from www.moltonbrown.co.uk for £18. A Birchbox supscription can be ordered from www.Birchbox.co.uk . I've received two of their normal monthly boxes so far and am happy with these so far. The monthly boxes contain around 6 large sample/travel sizes of products and sometimes full size makeup products. It's a great way to try your new products and these are tailored to you through a questionnaire you fill out on their website. Try it out for yourself :) Well, I thought I'd have started to blog a long time before now….! But I had a very hectic Autumn and Winter and began working for MAC Cosmetics! All very exciting!
So hopefully I'll be bringing you product reviews and swatches, info on my makeup and some makeup photos. For the time being, please enjoy my ombre eyeliner pictures (apologies for the quality).
